Why I Created Children’s Book University

More than 80% of Americans want to write a book. And so many of those want to write a children’s book (anyone with kids knows this to be true). Yet, only a few actually go after this dream.

With my Children’s Book University, I want to INSPIRE you to tackle that dream of yours to write your own children’s book. It is my wish to inspire you to see the opportunities, passions, and (most importantly) the joy the process of writing and publishing a children’s book brings with it.

What is it that is holding you back? When I worked on my first children’s book, I remember having felt so overwhelmed. My idea was to write about a little boy that needed help with his transition from his potty chair to the grown-up toilet. A fun little story with a purpose. Yet, I felt overwhelmed.

Overwhelmed, because I didn’t even know where to start. I had my story all written out, but didn’t know where to go from there.

  • Should I publish my story the traditional way or go the self-publishing route?
  • If I do it on my own, how and where should I publish it?
  • Who will create my illustrations?
  • How do I hire an editor?
  • Where do I find a cover designer?
  • How should I promote it?

These were only some of the questions that kept swirling through my head, creating overwhelm and a sense of stress where, instead, there should have been excitement and anticipation.

It is my goal to help you through this wonderful adventure of yours. Writing a children’s book is truly magical. But the most magnificent moment imaginable is that moment when you read your book to little ones for the very first time. I can’t wait for you to experience this marvelous moment.
