Children’s Book Story Endings & Story Closings

  1. And they lived happily ever after.
  2. And if they didn’t live happily ever after, …
  3. This is my tale, …
  4. And this is how the story ends.
  5. And now the story is yours.
  6. …well, wouldn’t you?
  7. And that’s what he did from then on.
  8. And I hope you do too!
  9. This is what I’d been told when I was a child…
  10. The moral of the story is quite simple: …
  11. And that was the end of it.
  12. But the journey isn’t over yet…
  13. If you don’t believe me, go see for yourself.
  14. And that’s the way my grandma told me.
  15. What a day that was!
  16. What a story that was!
  17. …before it disappeared completely.
  18. It was all just a dream. Or was it?
  19. In fact, if I hadn’t been there myself, I never would have believed it.
  20. And I remember it to this day.
  21. And they ate and drank, and were merry and of good cheer, …
  22. They feasted and they drank, and if the story hadn’t ended there, I’d still be with them instead of here talking to you.
  23. And they never did that again.
  24. And if she could, she’d do it again!
  25. And the last person to tell that story…. is standing here before you!
  26. Now, the old man handed the tune down to his children, and his children to their children, and the old people taught it to me.
